A Quick Sweep of the Legs!

Here we are dealing with a simple takedown, but we have to learn how to stack the odds in our favor. You will see the attacker reach to strike or grab and it is in this attack that we must shift the attackers weight by pulling him in the direction of the attack. This move is very subtle and is designed to place the attacker slightly off balance. From here, you move in and then strike the back of the attackers leg at an angle from the lead knee to the rear ankle. It is the combination of these two moves that will unbalance your attacker quickly. Work with your partner slowly at first and look for precision in the movement.
